Slow Down for Christmas Workshop
A Special Morning of Yoga

When we think of Christmas, it can mean many things to us - celebration, family, gifts, festive food, parties, decorating the tree and making magical memories. Christmas can also mean a lot of stress, lots of shopping, cooking, attending events, parties, looking after relatives, visiting relatives, and often by the time Christmas Day arrives we are left feeling exhausted and burnt out.

Yoga can help us to focus on the present moment, ease away stress, release tension, boost immunity and rejuvenate mind and body. With all that in mind, Mandy and I would like to invite you to a very special morning of yoga designed to help you slow down before Christmas. A nurturing yoga flow combined with breathing techniques will nourish your mind, body and soul and feel akin to sinking into a warm bubble bath. The stress and fast pace of Christmas will disappear for you to emerge feeling relaxed yet energised for the busy season ahead.

During the course of the morning, you will be navigated through a gentle building flow, to bring heat to your muscles to help you stretch away tension. You will also learn breathing practices and how to use aromatherapy oils to bring energy to your body and also techniques to help you to calm your nervous system to help you combat stress.

There will be a few edible healthy treats (vegan caramels from Burton Road’s Cocoa-Cabana) and a ‘relaxation goody bag’ including samples from Neal’s Yard to take away with you too. Posture modifications will be offered so the session caters to all levels of ability.

Mandy and I look forward to welcoming you! This workshop takes place on Saturday 2nd December 2017 10am -1pm.

Price: Investment in your health and wellbeing costs just £25. (Concessions £20)

Hanumanasana Workshop | 12th June 2016

The ability to do the Hanumanasana/Front Split is an incredible achievement. For those of us who did not start as teenagers or have a particular talent in this direction, it can, and often is, a never-ending journey.

Although I started yoga at a relatively early age, it was only through the discovery of techniques presented in this workshop that I am now able to do Hanumanasana in all variations on a daily basis. I am very excited to share this knowledge that will help you to also unlock this amazing physical ability” Dr Christoph Seiland

During the workshop, Christoph will guide students to explore methods outside of the field of traditional yoga practice that are allowing for the development of mobility rather than simply flexibility, which is worthless.

Therefore, movements to develop proper leg strength - building upon the postures in Wednesday’s YogaMotion class - will be included to improve the mobility of the hip flexors and hamstrings to create a safe and effective approach to front split.

The workshop is ideal for those who have some experience with yoga/movement, and is interested in developing the Front Split in a harmonious manner.

When: 11-1:30pm, 12th June 2016
Where: Moor Allerton School, Barlow Moor Road, Didsbury, M20 2PW

February Lake District Yoga Weekend

1st Feb 2013 - 3rd Feb 2013
Fawcett Mill Fields - Penrith

"I had a wonderful weekend that was spent with equally wonderful people. The atmosphere was always relaxed, even when we were all wind-swept and soaked to the bone. Tara and Kirsten were warm and generous hosts, serving lovely, varied food. On a personal level, the weekend has reaffirmed how much yoga has enabled me to feel more 'together' on a physical and mental basis." (Charlene, Burnage)
